At Brackenwood Hog Roast and Event Catering we only use one local meat supplier and that’s because we strongly believe that it’s our responsibility to know where the meat we serve on our Hog Roasts and BBQ’s has come from. The butcher we use is also a traditional abattoir and has been a family business in Coventry and Warwickshire for over 100 years. All the pork, beef and lamb sold there are reared on farms within a 15 miles radius of the shop. That means the meat they sell has minimal food miles and that in buying it we are also supporting local farmers. We all believe that short journeys minimise stress for the animals and result in better animal welfare and higher quality meat.
We have always been praised on the quality of our hog roasts and I can honestly say it is due to the pigs being both locally sourced and well cared for and that gives us the confidence to say we are one of the best around.
